For the beginning economics student, finding information on the Web can be daunting. Type economics into a search engine and what do you find? Google.com reports "about 428,000 entries" and Northernlight.com finds over seven million.
This site is designed for the college student taking a freshman- or sophomore-level economics course. The goal is to be selective, not exhaustive. Most of the links are annotated.
An animated check-mark indicates a site that should be particularly useful to a student approaching that topic for the first time.
As there is no 'natural' way to organize these lists, the menu to the left is organized alphabetically. That too is arbitrary, as the same topic might be titled in any number of different ways. The best advice to the new user is to check each menu item quickly. The first paragraph for each topic page will describe what type of Web sites are linked from that page. If there are a vast number of sites listed on a page, the second paragraph will describe how that page is organized.
Some sites are listed under more than one category.
The menu titles in gray are for topics that do not yet contain any links.
Of course a project such as this is never really finished. Good sites come and go. If you find a good one, please email Professor Taylor at kitaylor@bcc.ctc.edu. The primary criteria for inclusion here is: Is this site of use to a college student taking a freshman- or sophomore-level economics course?
